My latest purchase

Posted by Rich W on 21 Jan 2021, 19:21

Just to add to the flurry of latest purchases added here...All these figures are absolutely lovely. I've not bought any Romans since I was a child, but these figures looked so good I had to get them. And the Teutoburg Forest events sound a very interesting topic so I thought I should get the book to read up a little more. Any suggestions as to any other Roman/Auxilaries sets that would go with this set (correct uniforms etc)?

More French Infantry for the WSS - I've now get enough for 10 units
British Infantry for the WSS - It wouldn't be fair just to do the French and I can also use them against my Jacobites for 1689 and 1715.
British winter tank crews - Not sure I'll bother with snow on the bases, maybe try some mud.
Volkssturm - something to add the the mix for Fall of the Reich games
NVA and VC - yet more to add to my Vietnam mix
Mounted musketeers and cardinal's guards - to go with the foot versions I have already got
Ukrainian Cossacks - enough to complete units of Polish Pancerni and Imperial Croats
Roman/Crusader Transport - mainly bought for the Oxen, which I need for my Napoleonic Spanish

Hello everyone,
I finally let myself tempted by Speira and it was a five star experience from start to finish.
I wanted a couple of ACW references to complement my current figures and also a Napoleonic heavy gun and other accessories.
Overall it was faster than announced, very professional communication throughout, packaging incredible and the result is just bluffing.

Speira are great!

Saturday we went and bought some soil for the missus tomato plants. In the shop I saw some huts that seemed to be the right size for me. Price? Couldn't find a pricetag first. Then I found one I thought, 25 SEK. Well, how much do one house in our scale cost??? So I took two huts and paid for them. Total 10 SEK!!! But then it was time to walk home. But I will go there again some time and buy more. :-D

Oh no! Wrong shop!!! Better try next time! 1 Euro is about 10 Swedish krona so they were pretty cheap.

A little while ago I decided that I wished to collect one box of each Revell set-boxes in good condition and figures on sprue. Not really sure why, but Revell were my favourite brand and as a youngster I predominantly bought Revell figures. So maybe this collection is for nostalgia. Anyway, managed to get a batch of new sets all in pretty good condition from one seller, so with postage combined, these work out reasonable priced. Still quite a few sets I need, but I'm confident that over time I'll stumble across them all! I already have pretty much all of them but in tatty boxes and loose and badly painted/broken etc.

I bought some more houses. A bit more pricey than the first ones, but still quite cheap!

Reminds me of the old Tarantula movie! Will you develop that story with the monster spider any further? (I hope so.)

In Sweden the houses are small and the spider are huge.
A lot has changed there since my journey home across Sweden in 2005.
