Sho's first figures

Posted by Sho on 16 Feb 2021, 15:01

I just started the inventory and resort my old 1/72 sets. We all started someday.
These Guards are probably one of my very first proper figures, but definitely the first ones I "painted". With Revell enamels. Even two early painting periods can be seen here.

Sho--

Your 'early efforts' are actually very good, far better than the painting I did during my earliest years with this scale.

Just a foreshadowing of the greatness that was to follow!

I like to see your first painted figures. I painted the Airfix British Grenadiers as Old Guard, because I have them without a box...

I call this even not painting but marking.
And it is bad even as marking.

Another weird esci set, Austrians and Prussians two in one.
I marked most of Prussian light infantry as line one.
And give some of them Belgic shakos from Italeri British set, what supposed to make them Grenadiers.

This is very interesting. But I don't have my first painted figures. It was Roman Legion by ESCI... and paints also were Revell enamel paints.

I have Italeri Roman Legion, also marked with Revell enamels.
I will show them later. But now another Austrians, Italeri ones..

I unpacked the box with painted French cavalry, relatively well painted troopers on marked only horses.

The effort put in for any artist author throughout time, upon that long ago event is always most certainly their very best.
It is really great to see the classic golden oldies with the painted colours that so inspired me long ago. Back in my earliest of painting days nobody outside the home got to see them anyway, but again they were to me my play away best.
Thank you for posting them Sho, it has been a real pleasure to view them. BB

Yes, Revells sets were best in the world at that time.
But now here are Italeri armored riders.

I think your early figures look good. The cavalry are great, very nice painting of some really terrific sets.
