The Challenge to finish some Projects

Posted by PatrickJ71 on 18 Feb 2024, 14:36

Hello Jan,
I'm a bit late in this thread but I recognize the problem of having too many ideas and not enough time to realize them. Finding figures who inspire and seeing the great output of some in this forum can both boost your own motivation but sometimes also be paralyzing, leaving you with a lot of unfinished business.
I think it's amazing what you've already shown here on this forum and having enough material to fill a display cabinet is admirable.
I was particularly interested in the Art Miniatures you showed because I feel a special love for them. Because I have been out of the hobby for 10 to 15 years, I miss many of their old sets, but I take comfort in the thought that they will all be offered again at some point, albeit perhaps in a slightly modified version.
You got your Prussian artillery finished and that deserves a pat on the back because I know what a battle with motivation that must have been.
thank you for sharing and keep up the good work!
Patrick

Modern problems eh Mabo? At least we don't have to go check trap lines in subzero weather to see if we eat today. The fact we even have such a hobby speaks volumes about how fortunate we all are to do it. Looks like you enjoy having a variety of projects to choose from which is fine but more than 2 or 3 and I get stuck unable to do anything. So i've gone total Napoleonics for the last 7 years now to the exclusion of all else. To each their own. I hope you find satisfaction this year with the hobby, what was so bad about last year? The eternal band of Benno's brothers helps me through the rough spots and hope it does the same for you.
Cheers,

I totally agree with Rich, including his opinion on the Prussians, they are my favourite too, Jan. ;-)

The next step forward: I have finished some DAK Infantry from Perry Miniatures. Actually I am working on a motorcycle as last part of this project. Not the best pictures, and nothing special.

A nice, battle-worn group.

No, they are 28 mm. But I posted them in this topic here because of the overall theme.
