Well. That is a rather large cathedral. Might occupy your hobby table for the next 4 years if you paint as slowly as I do haha.

Thank you for your nice comments ! :-D

More progress with my St Basil Cathedral, I’ve finished the lower part of the front wing by adding more structures, details and the roof. I can see that some modern reinforcement had been added to the green roof so I won’t add it to my model supposed to be the one of 1812 and I found some drawing of this period, to be as close as possible. The pyrographer was of some use for engraved details just below the roof.

The 4 conical shape above the roof have been reinforced with Araldite glue (Yelow) inside angles between plates, to be sure it will never break. There’s 3 more wings to build before doing all the towers of the upper parts, not to forget the painting, yes, there’s still a lot to do ! but it’s rewarding with the result !!! nothing give me more satisfaction than this… time doesn't fly and years don't count.

Dear Mr ADM.

I have to say that your commitment and engineering skills displayed here are worthy of any number of famous engineers and builders.

The medium you are using with its requirement for specialist tools is very rewarding in the results to date.

The structure, once completed will be worthy of any museum placing in my opinion.

Best wishes,

Chris

I'm back with more work, the lower part of the left and right wing of the St Basil cathedral is done with PVC and plexiglass, I still need to do the back wing before starting the upper part and towers. There's still a lot to do.

I've also started to paint the figures of the imperial guard, generals, marshals, and Napoleon himself.

Trousers are made of these different Vallejo colors with a black wash and drybrush :
White
Red 70909
Blue 70809
Sand 70837

underlining the details on the white with a pencil Staedtler 0,3mm.

Jacket :
70809 royal blue with wash and drybrush
70890 reflective green with wash and drybrush

Coat :
70989 sky grey with wash and drybrush

Buttons :
70801 Laiton.
