Here he is, riding his white horse, his shield proudly showing his colors, a light blue cross on a white shield.
Born in 1111 he became king in 1143 and lived a long and proud life till 1185.

The figure is from the Revell normans, quite adequate for a 12th century Portuguese knight. It is a good example of the effect of age on eyesight, without the benefit of the photo enlarging the figure looked well. It is not, but nevertheless I show it.
