DEVGRU ca.2010

Posted by DeMa on 20 Jul 2015, 20:27

Hello guys

This is my first post here and also my (almost) first attempt to convert and paint miniatures.

Image
These are the miniatures used: Caesar IDF, Revell US Infantry, Revell German Panzergrenadiere
I converted them into a DEVGRU (former Seal Team 6) Assault Team in Afghanistan/Iraq

Image
The Team Leader with a captured RPG launcher made of a toothstick

Image
An Assaulter with a telescopic ladder on his back

Image
Another Assaulter with a so called "Pirate Gun" - a sawed off 40mm GL

Image
EOD guy with MP7

Image
Recon guy with Sniper rifle and thermal optic

Image
Another Assaulter

Image
K9 Handler with his dog

All in All the aim was to represent as much detail as possible for me, through the use of greenstuff, scalpel and figures I already had lying around

feel free to comment-I always look to improve my work like anybody else!

Great entry DeMa. Amazing work. I like very much the paint work, love the american flag in green.
Cool the idea idea of hiding the faces, like a real picture!
I would make only one criticism, the dog does not live up of the soldiers. In the market there are different figures of dogs, for example the set airfix Nato ground crew, a good start.
Great work on mich helmet, some wip pics will be very appreciated!!! ;-)

Thanks for the comments
@Mai Strac:
Good tip about the dog, the model you mentioned would greatly benefit these models ;-)
Since I am planning on expanding this force (a few other guys are already waiting to be photographed :sst: ) I will try to make some WIP pics of the next conversion

Top notch stuff! I really like how you've created these operators. You've any WIP-pics?
