1/72 versions of 1/35 Tamiya - German Tank Crew at Rest

Posted by Panzer_Grenadire on 15 Sep 2015, 09:56

In the field of 1/72 WWII Germans, it is often the case Braille Scale manufacturers to get inspiration from poses included in various larger scale sets, and from the multitude of those, it seems Tamiya’s 1/35 “German Tank Crew at Rest” is the most utilised. Three 1/72 producers, El Viejo Dragon (EVD), CMK, and Caesar have delivered their interpretations over the Tamiya miniatures in reference but these Braille Scale figs are certainly not direct copies, all sculptors creating original works.
Under the name “1/72 versions of 1/35 Tamiya German Tank Crew at Rest”, an article analysing and comparing the 1/72 offer on the matter and featuring lots of related photos is now available at the following link:

Vehicles appearing in the images are my friend Cristi Atanasiu's work.

Absolutely right, Caesar's are my favourites here, too ...:) And furthermore, they are the cheapest and easiest to find...:)

Great comparison of the 3 sets. Don't know how you do it, but your insignia detail painting is phenomenal. ...right down to the color piping on the uniforms....AMAZING!!!
Thanks for doing the review.

Kind thanks for the message Bill and sorry for answering with some delay, but I was abroad with office buisness...:) I have to recognize that I hate painting uniform insignia because it takes quite much time.. however, it is necessary for the general look of the figure, thus I try depicting those.... obviously, I am extremely happy when I paint clothes that had not insignia... I like a lot such figs and if they do not have weapons and gear is even faster..:) I hardly wait to start painting Orion's Panzer soldiers set 2... also perfect were Zvezda's airfield maintenance ... I have already finished them, but the review will take a while till I post it....:)
