Ancient Germans: warband

Good evening gentlemen, ladies. Today I have a warband on display: ancient Germans, ready to raid a gaul village or a roman villa.





I used as many sets from various manufacturers as possible, so that I have troop of individual fighters and not a cohort. I think that all these minis fit well with one another, even when the style of sculpting is extremely different.

Yes, they look great, a very nice paintjob! And they fit very well together. Mixing figures from different manufacturers is alwys a good idea to get more variety IMHO.

They look good together and they look even better by themselves! Hmm, the nude Caesar guy's willy (snopp in Swedish) looks a bit red.

These tribal kind of subjects always look better with lots of different figures and these look very good together. A good looking warband and I like some of the shield designs.

I believe the housing market is taking a downturn & the barbarian horde may be better advised to diversify into shares. A raid on the stock exchange?

I would say Caesar is the most natural, Strelets have the most character. I think they all work well together - the Strelets definitely occupying the lower rungs of the evolutionary ladder!
Beautiful painting and nice to see en masse.
