Elephants for Raphia & Magnesia

Posted by ToneTW on 07 Apr 2019, 23:18

Latest addition to the elephant parade. Seleucid armored elephants in 20mm from Newline Designs. Antiochus III at the battle of Magnesia deployed his elephants between sections of deep phalanxes. This would have been an intimidating sight but the Roman army was at its sharpest after years of fighting in the Hannibalic war. The elephants at Magnesia caused great disruption to Antiochus' pikemen. These themes will hopefully be explored during the Lost Battles refight, one day!

Thank you everyone for your comments! The elephant project has been an interesting change and new challenge after painting lots of small men. I have 2 more elephants to share soon but not as blinged up as these ones! Cheers!
