WW2 British reinforcements

Managed to complete painting my 3D printed WW2 British before the end of last month.
Image

A pair each of Daimlers and White scout cars for my armoured car regiment I see one Daimler is reversing towards the enemy. The AOS marking has badly silvered and needs touched up.

Yet more Matilda mark 1s, I now have enough for the new Rapid Fire Arras scenarios

and their bigger brothers the mark 2 with the distinctive raised suspension and skid trail used by the BEF vehicles

A pair of Morris CS9 armoured cars

18/25 pdr guns and limbers, the guns are PSC with 3D printed wheels

Very nice work indeed and good spot.

The camera is merciless!

These vehicles look very special.

Best wishes,

Chris

Looking good! I particularly like the BEF Matilda I and II models. A little 'Arras dust' weathering might be appropriate?

They are lightly weathered, but I find anything heavier tends to look rather false, or I'm too clumsy doing it.

How many Matilda models do you actually need for the Rapid Fire Arras scenarios, Will? I believe that the BEF started the battle with fewer than 60 Matilda Is and only 16 Matilda IIs, and I am pretty sure that not all of these would have been 'runners' anyway due to mechanical problems etc....

If I am right in observing, Arras was the 'finest hour' for the Matilda I, which was never afterwards used in action by the British (or any other) army.

I now have 7 Matilda Is and 3 Matilda IIs, which is the number required for the combined Rapid Fire Arras scenario. At their 1:5 ratio that is 35 Matilda Is and 15 Matilda IIs.

Very nice, and that BEf camouflage scheme is quite attractive......seeing as I have a couple of spare Matilda kits to do, I'm going for it! They will serve alongside my small 1940 French units.
I won't be doing any White scout cars though, as the British didn't get them until 1941! https://ww2db.com/vehicle_spec.php?q=412

My Daimlers and scout cars are for 44-45. The CS-9 will have to cope on their own, although a Guy armoured car might help out, though recce was not their function.
