Battle of Valsequillo

Posted by guderian65 on 20 Jul 2022, 09:41

The kit is from BUM (Barcelona Universal Models). The figures are poorly casted copies. The base of the knocked out T-26 is pretty good. I did some conversions on the figures. I also used styrene to correct some weapon issues. All in all, a challenging project. Thanks for viewing.

First of all welcome to the forum Bill!

And this is a very nice first post! Really like your painting style, which is a bit different as we usually see here! ;-)

Very nice. I like your painting style a lot, it really looks more like a painting than three dimensional figures. Really interesting! And I think your painted background adds to that effect.
I have painted some BUM figures before - their poses tend to be good but their casting was atrocious, so I feel your pain. :(

Thanks everyone for the supportive comments. Just for full clarity, I'm not a new member here. Due to some system glitch, the forum doesn't recognize my previous username nor password. My original username was/is panzerman825 and I've been posting since 2017. The only way to access the forum again was to re-register.
To Bill Slavin, below is another recent work with a backdrop drawing. I think it really places things in an environment. Thanks again fellow miniaturists.

It's a 'Welcome back' to the Forum then!

I like the individual style of these two recent works. There is a lot to be said for hand-made backdrops, and an opportunity to show off not only 3D painting and modelling skills, but also 2D artistry.

Hello Bill Guderian
these self-painted backdrops are ultra-cool. The figures so so and the whole scene very expressive.
Thank you for your contribution
