Four hobbits and Strider

Posted by Susofrick on 28 Oct 2024, 09:26

More from LOTR. Hobbits are probably Games Workshop 6mm (no idea, they were loose two and two when I bought them about 25-30 years ago (a guess)). And Strider is from Dark alliance Southern Kingdom Warriors set 1. Crossbows? Well, that the hobbits had crossbows was so obvious that JRR didn't even mention it!

A pleasing group. 6mm tall? No wonder Sauron missed them travelling to Mt Doom.

I have an idea about the Hobbits, but due to my almost complete ignorance regarding LOTR, I had no clue about Strider. The first thing the internet yielded was the information that Strider was Frodo's pony - which seemed a bit strange looking at the figure above. But then I learned that Strider is also Aragorn. Phew!
But anyhow, nice paintjob on them all!

Gunnar, I'm sure J.R.R. Tolkien would like his hobbits to have long-range weapons in addition to their little elven swords.

I'm not so sure whether the credit goes to Dark Alliance or to Gunnar, who decided that this particular figure should represent Aragorn. :winky:

Great figures they are!
