War of Spanish Succession

Here are the equally stunning Strelets British cavalry. These are painted as Wyndham's regiment. These were very enjoyable to paint and continue to display the big standards Strelets are setting themselves with their WSS range. Any feedback is always welcome on how these can be improved for next time!

Thanks for looking!

Very good! This is an excellent set and, as you observe Rich, a pleasure to paint. I have just completed a unit (Wood's/3rd Horse, which also has green facings!!) and these may see the light of day sometime amongst the Strelets Contributions.

Keep up the good work :yeah:

Re: French cavalry (Gendarmes and Chevauxlegers): Super! All that lace, and the detail on the kettledrummer is excellent. Just think what an array it will be when Strelets eventually bring out all their Maison du Roi sets..

I must say it is an extreme pleasure to take in these masterfully painted WSS cavalry figures.

Especially the French riders. Simply marvelous.

To think about where you started and where you are now, and in such a short time, is a testament to a lot of hard work and listening to constructive suggestions from our forum members. You have taken them to heart, and now you are simply soaring. It's great to see.

I don't like the horses... legs and necks are too thick, heads too small. Or they seem too small because of necks? :eh: But that is not your fault Rich. Your painting is nice.

Thank you all for your kind words.

The improvements in my painting are all down to the great advice I've received from the members on this forum. Hopefully that can be an encouragement to anyone who is too shy to post their photos as they're worried their painting isn't up to the incredibly high standard set by others on here.

Mark, I saw one of your photos posted on Strelets for British riders. You MUST share more, as they looked great from what I could make out from the photo!

Thank you Rich. I have submitted several pictures of painted British WoSS cavalry to Strelets for their Contributions page, and I am assuming that they are somewhere in the queue. As you know, there have been quite a lot of 'deserty' Contributions of late, and these seem to be taking priority.

I will happily post here on Bennos if nothing appears in the next couple of weeks.

Great sculpted and superbly painted minis, Rich! The real one´s did not fight very far away from here in Höchstädt (or Blenheim, as you call it after the village Blindheim). I think I will definitely put these on my wish list.

More British cavalry from Blenheim/Blindheim. The figures are very nice to paint. Just itching for Strelets to release their next batch of WSS sets now! Thanks for looking and always thanks for the feedback, it encourages me to keep going and developing my skills!

I have to say these WSS figures I’m seeing are truly glorious. Those look fabulous - makes me want to join the move to the lace wars.

Very nice indeed.

Great painting and the ‘ look’ is just as good as the Napoleonic period in my opinion.

Best wishes,

Chris
