The Huns came from the East and made some of the "Barbarian" peoples move upon the Roman Empire; The Mongols came... from the East and... could have made the same impact on the new kingdoms on Eastern Europe.
This is a small group who didn't want to bow before the Mongols, therefore moving ahead of them...
It's a fictitious army for a portuguese wargame, so - as you will sometimes notice - I can indulge on some inaccuracies. I have been trying some paints and techniques, some worked better than others. Hope you like it and, please, sugestions are welcome.
@ Peter - sorry about the size of the pictures. Maybe they are best seen at the blog... And there's more over there.
At the same time (because I must have an army big enough to fight by the 31st of March) I have been painting some Strelets and Mars's figures... I guess it would be strange russians fighting side by side with Teutonic knights... They are all just trying to find their place in this strange world... and fortune too!
Bourbaki wrote:Good start David, keep it up, how many figures are you going to paint for this army?
I have 10 more foot soldiers and 10 cavalry units to paint that I would like to end until the end of the month. This will be enough to play some games.
I finished my infantry force (for now). 27 guys ready for this weekend's games!! More Mars (the 2 Teutonic knights and the archer), Strelets and Zvezda figures. Great fun to paint them, as I had the freedom to change some weapons and paint them as I wanted!
First 6 cavalry units for my Russian Army. 5 of them are Zvezda's Russian Noble Cavalry (real russians, you see) and the mounted archer with red tunic is from Strelets's Carolingian Cavalry.
Been basing some figures that were waiting for the last year! These archers are important to stop the enemy cavalry, as my army is almost only infantry (mercenary armies, with these rules, are only infantry).
