Waterloo 1815

Posted by Wolfgang Meyer on 05 Jun 2015, 12:56

I have the great pleasure to present the Waterloo diorama from our hobby friend Arndt Wolfram.
The diorama can be seen next year in the Prussian Museum in Wesel/Germany
It will be shown about 10 500 pieces on 25 qm.
The troops were all prepared in relation 1to1.

Here the images of a sample preparation:

Hi Peter,

unfortunately is not Wesel near Munden. But if you come back next year for Munden, we make a nice private tour of the museum and have a beer together.

best regards,

Wolfgang

Truly magnificent Wolfgang.

To have a layout like this in ones attic is surely every Napoleonic fans wildest dream.

Am trying to identify those Cuirassiers with swords resting on their shoulders. Are they Art Miniaturen troopers on Zvezda horses?

Can't wait to see more! Pleeeeaasee

The cuirassiers with swords on the shoulders are conversions from Zvezda figures. These were then cast in tin.

On 25 m² there is only the fighting in the center of the battlefield, Hougoumont is not on the diorama.
But the troops, however, are all in 1 to 1.

Woooow Wolfgang thanks a million for the close-ups! Now I must get down to some conversions of my own.
Just out of curiosity have you yourself used any Arts Miniaturen Napoleonic cavalry and( i believe that the Croebern dioramas featured many) and if, as I suspect you have, then how do you rate them? The animations look great - I especially like their Polish Lancers - but somehow the detail looks poor, even though I have never seen one up close or handled one, when one compares them to Zvezda or Italeri.

One Teeny tiny Thing. The Position of the colours of the scottish regiment.
The king's colour is alway placed to the right of the regimental colour, they did this so the commander (ie; Wellington) would, from a distance, know which way the Regiment was facing.
In square they would move them to the side (king's colour the right of the regimental colour) that presented nearest to the direction of the enemy.

Hi k.b.

Art miniatures are very beautiful figures. They are especially beautiful when they were well painted. The best example are the figures from Frank Becker ..
On the Cröbern diorama are almost exclusively art-figures. They can also be combined with Zvezda and Italerie.

With the permission from Frank Becker I show some kind of art-miniatures, all Prussiens, all cavallery!

Best regards,

Wolfgang
