Nappy Cavalry Project Regt #7 - French Dragoons

Posted by Marvin on 09 Aug 2015, 21:27

Hi to everyone!

Another regiment is completed in my developing Nappy Cavalry project for this year. This time it is the French 17th Regiment of Dragoons.

I can tell you it's not often I get to paint troops in pink! A lovely set by Italeri and what a stark contrast in quality compared with my last regiment, Italeri's Prussian Dragoons.

A few more pics, etc on the old blog:

My best,

Marvin

(The next regiment might be the new Waterloo 1815 British Heavy Dragoons)

This set has been the Beautiful Work Horse of the Napoleonic cavalry period for absolute ages. lots of uses too for conversions into other cavalry units too. I`ve painted hundreds up over the years, and i never tire of seeing them painted up and posted here. Nice Work! BB

Thans everybody for the praise. I appreciate it and I'm pleased that they've met with approval. :-D They are indeed a lovely set to paint.

Hi Alegent - I use Vallejo acrylic Model Color Black Green 980 as a base coat, shade it with a black wash and highlight with that base coat colour again. As an extra highlight I've then used Vallejo Flat Green 968.
