Pikeman of the TYW (MARS)

Posted by Konrad on 29 Aug 2015, 21:56

Without a question MARS has made some of the worst sets we know.
And it is a strange company politic to copy the sets of other manufacturers.
But I have tried to give my best.

Hope you enjoy!

I really hate when someone gets horrible figures & paints them beautifully; transforming them.

I hate this because I can't do it. I'll end up buying the Mars monstrosities & even after painting them, they'll look ugly.

Thanks Konrad! They are truly beautifully painted. What colors specifically did you use for the faces?

I use
GW Dwarf Flesh
GW Elf Flesh
CITADEL Ogryn Flesh (Washes)

I have chosen these figures because of the poses and the faces.
The rest of this sets are maybe usefull for gaming.
But this is only my opinion.

A wise modeler once said, "A good paint job can elevate a poor figure". Well, your marvelous paint job has brought these....ah hum figures.....into orbit. Great use of color and shading. Love the Drummer boy.
Happy modeling.....Bill.

What can I tell you about your painting skills that I didn't told you before? You simply turn poor figures into small masterpieces. Thanks for sharing your photo technique.

And you don't need to be afraid of Benno... he's good guy (sometimes)
