Hello Massimo,
Am always delighted to see any new work from you. We know something interesting lies in store when we click on one of your threads.
Despite this being an unusual subject I must be honest and say I was rather disappointed with this piece! I felt that for such a quiet peaceful theme one or two of the horses were exaggeratedly lively - and at the same time I think the troopers swords would have been in their scabbards! I think the vignette is lacking a focal point which is what tells the story. Even the tree adds to the confusion! It would be more appropriate in a more turbulent scene.......... at least that is how I see the scene. Sorry to be so frank...

This is a scene to present the figures that are available at Hagen Minis, isn't it? So it is no diorama.
I like them. They are a well done addition to the infantrie still on the market.

Good point Mabo! You are right........ my criticism should be aimed at the diorama not at the figures (even though I have my reservations)!

Very Good Horse Poses. Three or four legs on the ground makes for stronger metal figures. It also means easy`er work all round. Hopefully no need for buyers drilling holes into legs in order to fix metal pins up through the base,as i know many do.In this case every camera angle shot works fine for me,and the tree is very important indeed, because it helps define the corner which these cavalrymen are in the process or turning.

Sorry I do rattle on.

Excellent work as usual, Massimo. These figures are beautifully posed; especially the horses which look so natural.

cheers, donald

A wonderful group of riders in action, impressive painting. I have only a problem with the tree which don´t look very realistic than romantic. I don´t have seen such a birch tree.

The detail painting on these figures is brilliant. The animated poses of men and horses is quite dynamic.
Only slight critique is the composition is a little too compact....spread out more they would define each rider and horse better....IMHO.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Massimo,
once again, as not otherwise usual from you, very great figures,
involved in a very harmonious Scenario.
One can feel formally the horror of this battle.
I like it very very much.

greetings Egbert :-D

Congratulations to you and Hagen Miniatures. Lovely painting has really done them proud. Nice shading, and detail work - the collars are great! Good use of dark grey on the crest. :yeah: :yeah:
