And here is the base with figures! I added some extra figures to Massimo's great set. The warriors are from Imex and Waterloo1815, the riding soldiers are from Strelets, Dr Lord is Airfix, and the soldier with two arrows in his chest is Zvezda (former medieval farmer). And since I added a reference list in the WIP this scene must be right!









Ooops! It was on a hill, better to tilt the scene a little! Ooops again! One of the warriors fell off!

Very colourful combination of figures. Maybe you should cut the bases of the horses or make a base in which you can hide them. Just my opinion. But the painting is nice Gunnar. And it is a very dramatic scene.

So many detail. So great colors! Class!!!
My favorite is the soldier with the trumpet sitting on the floor. A very beautiful pose. The soldier acting disoriented and dizzy. This underpins the total chaos. Very Succeeded!

Fabulous scene. Very nicely painted figures and the composition is great! The braves galloping around the knot of figures in middle really give the whole scene motion and intensity.

On Thing , it´s a bit too crowded ( for my Taste ) a bigger Base and some green Gras would be nice .

The fury of the Sioux who clearly will not have pity is also shows. Excellent work in improving and painting figures.
I agree with Mabo in wich if you cut the bases of the figures it could improve a lot the diorama.

Thanks for the comments! Made it much more fun to have worked with this! About the base, it is my African savannah-base and it will be reused in other topics too, so this was just a temporary scene. The figures are in the box again. I don't have room to save my dios so I make small scenes.

It is not wise to try to cut off the platforms of 58 year old AIRFIX Figures, because the plastic will break above the feet,and one will have broken legs everywhere. Much better to sink the platforms into a shallow base if the platforms are seen as an eye sore.
However Gunnar I am not in that frame of thinking,and your mixed makes of figures are very well painted and above all presented well. It did get rather over crowded upon that early morning star day.

I just love your diorama. The fact that it’s temporary does not affect me.
If I may offer two suggestions...
First. If you place your diorama and base over a neutral color cloth, like a gray or light green bed sheet, you will have a good contrast between the colors of the figures/scenery and the back. As you did it, over the old newspapers, a lot of the color and shape contrast is lost. It costs nothing and takes a few minutes and we would appreciate your work even more.
Second, When you have figures with bases and you do not want to cut them, just pour some fine sand and some cork scrapings around the base to merge the contours. It also costs nothing and takes only a few minutes. The result is excellent as you merge all the contours on a continuous surface.
Try it, you will see it works and does wonders for the final presentation.
