The Bedford OXA armoured car was designed as an emergency anti-tank vehicle to defend the British Isles against a threatening German invasion in 1940. Based on the Bedford OX truck, almost 1000 of them were built. Under armed and under armoured they would have been no match for even the lightest German tanks. They were retired from service in 1942 when sufficient numbers of better quality tanks and armoured vehicles became available.
This model is a conversion based on the 1/76 Bedford OXC tractor, from the Airfix RAF Recovery set.
