Le Mesnil-Patry, June 11, 1944

Posted by Bill Slavin on 23 Jul 2019, 14:32

With all the WWII stuff going up here lately, I thought I would break tradition and share my game report. Every summer myself and friends play a big two day game on a big table, and one of my real joys is spending the half day setting up that table in preparation.
The Canadian toys are mostly mine, the German toys mostly a friend's.
Here is a link to the full battle report:

And here are a few photos of the table and action:

There is a real period ‘ feel’ here especially so for a war games table.

Excellent stuff.

Best wishes,

Chris

Absolutely fabulous looking table! And that hedgerow in the last pic with the AT gun looks like a really good representation of bockage.

Thanks all.
Graeme, yes, I was pleased with that. I had some green berms, and just paired them up and topped them with my high hedges so I could differentiate them from the non- bocage.

It has a real feel of a reduced scale Normandy. It's an inviting gaming table, all those little features kind of makes me want to get stuck in!
