Strelets British Infantry (Lace Wars)

Posted by Marvin on 16 Feb 2020, 17:53

Like many others on this forum, I've been admiring the new War of the Spanish Succession figures by Strelets. So, I've decided to build up my armies from this era.

So far, I've created three British infantry regiments; the 1st Foot Guards, Orkney's Regiment and Sankey's Regiment. I've used the "in advance" and "firing line" sets (with a few "in attack" figures thrown in too).

Looking forward to the other WSS boxes from Strelets...

Cheers!

Thanks, fella! :-D

I'm basing these figures very simply with a view that they'll then fit in with an equally simple wargaming set-up (a green baize cloth).

Fantastic job Marvin! I've just began preparing a few from each set for painting. Yours have set a very high standard and have given me some inspiration on colours. You've done a particularly good job with the grenadier caps as well. I look forward to seeing your efforts with the new French set.

So it was Marvin that snatched them all up! (sold out several places already)The upside is they were painted superbly so I suppose I can wait to get some myself. Very nice Marvin! Lots of loving care shown here.

Excellent work.

You have breathed life into these gentlemen.

It is amazing what a little effort and imagination can do in business and Stretlets are to be commended for their efforts in my opinion.

Best wishes,

Chris

 Well, it's true I grabbed a few boxes - sorry! :P Thankfully Strelets WSS range do seem to be made available in the UK really quickly. And they do seem to be selling well, too.

It is always interesting to see the grenade thrower portrayed in good sets of figures.
All Guard Firelighters were the powerful part of the foot soldiers. One and all True Grunts!
Eventually becoming Grenadier Guards.

Yes i`m a fan of Marvin`s painting work too.
:coffee: His armies look well fit for muster, and ready to march off onto the next page. BB
