Am I the only one who thinks that the resemblance between this set and Strelets 238 (WSS British Cavalry) is more than casual? For example, the horses are identical.

The consistently style, the similarity of the images of master figures and the use of the same dollies for sets of horses suggests to me that we are seeing the work of one sculptor here. The person is very prolific, talented and very skilful.
This sculptor appears to be working for Dark Alliance, Strelets R and Linear A, all at the same time, so I assume they do not get to see a lot of day-light because of the number of masters that they are producing.

Well observed. The horses do indeed seem to be identical. Everything seems to indicate that it's the same sculptor. A pity actually, considering the horses. Don't get me wrong, they are nice enough and while I understand that companies must economize, nevertheless I had hoped they might differ, as I had considered eventually buying a set to bolster my WoSS cavalry (the difference in uniforms is not that big) and a set of somewhat different horses would have been nice. Now I'll probably stick to the upcoming Strelets sets.

I share your opinion, Steve. I thought the same about the sculptor of the Caesar Miniatures figures at the height of this manufacturer, when new sets were rapidly succeeding one after another.

By the way, this sculptor was the same one of my beloved Swiss Vatican Guards, produced under his own brand MM Miniatures.

The Red Box British cavalry can obviously be used for British SYW armies (I don't have one) but the top set may be of use to me.

Hard to see details but would the Prince's Lifeguard regiment/Fitzjames' Horse be good French SYW cavalry (I do have an army of these)?

I have a memory that the Jacobite cavalry wore a tartan sash across their shoulders but AFAICT these don't have it....maybe the second set does?

Most likely as one of the many consequences of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the website of the RedBox/Orion/Alliance manufacturers' association is no longer active.
Given the enormous scale of human suffering, this seems marginal of course, but for our hobby this completely unnecessary war marks a massive break.
ICM, MasterBox, MiniArt, Strelets, Roden, ACE, ClearProp, UniModels (UM), Armory, Dora Wings, Mars Figures and several other companies are affected...

In case you have not yet seen the Friday Courier post on the Strelets forum,

it appears that the storage area where Redbox and Orion store their moulds has taken some shell damage, and that has affected some of the moulds. Strelets didn't say which ones but they did say "We don't know at this stage which specific sets/moulds were affected but it may be wise to pick sets, that you haven't bought yet, while the stock last to avoid paying silly price for them in future."

My understanding is that the Redbox/Orion production facilities and key personnel are located near to those of Strelets. In view of the current conflict in the area around Kharkiv in the Ukraine, I fear that new production from these fine manufacturers will have to wait until a more peaceful situation can be achieved/negotiated.
