Rebels and saracens

Posted by dykio on 31 Jan 2008, 21:01

Hi, I just started painting 1:72 instead of my usual 28mm and i realy love it. after finishing the confederate cavalry I have now started on the italeri saracens.

Does anybody know an easy way to get rid of flesh (and does anybody know a shop where you can buy ceasar miniatures

Thanks and regards

Hi dykio, welcome to the forum. You've got some great stuff there.

Some people put their figs in the freezer. When the plastic is hard they cut away the flash with a hobby knife. Never tried it, but it seems to work.

Where are you from btw?

They look good...Confederates always did of course. We're still pretty easy on the eyes by the way.

Welcome to the party.

As somebody who started out painting metal figures (I still do) dealing with flippin mold lines has always been my biggest complaint about plastic figures. There are a lot of crazy methods out there but the only success I've ever had with flash/mold lines (Man I hate those things) is an extremely sharp hobby knife.

I have had some sucess using a heated paper-clip. Just don't get it too hot! It requires a light touch...

Hi guys Thanks to al for the advicesand the welcome
. I have decided to try the hot paperclip method (thx captain Blicero) Because if I spoil some figures then i have a good excuus to buy some more !.
And ofcourse you have seen it right RPardo, it looks a lot like the fort apache.
I'm from voorschoten Benno (nearby den haag) but it seems impossible to buy ceasar miniatures in a shop. Perheps someone knows one ?
I'm now painting the camels (who seem to have lost one lump) from the saracen set. Hope to post them soon

There is a Dutch online shop, www.miniatuurwereld.com , who sells Ceasar. I buy most of my figs (plastic/metal) there. I mentioned this in another topic too.

It's a good and reliable shop. 8)
