Yes, the Sets would be interesting. I also like the figures - and you have quite a lot of them! :-D
But I would not paint the eyes.

I agree. I am not sure why modellers do it. A lot seem to do it but it turns a well sculpted face into a caricature.
In this scale...
...the most wide eyed look only gives about 50% white and then this is shaded by the eyelids and the brow. A very tiny speck of white could be used to highlight the white but this would only be visible by looking with a magnifying lense and some would say not worth the effort. The white is actually not that much lighter than the skin tone and is a light grey*.

Image

The eye only occupies about a third of the area between the eye brow and the top of the cheek.

that apart

Nice conversions -I recognise the Airfix ones

David

* for doubters test it with the colour picker on Photoshop

I understand the opinion about the eyes, it's not a mistake but a personal choice to make them slightly bigger to see joy, anger and any other emotion that can't be seen otherwise, most of the time people don't try to represent an expression on the face of their figures, but I decided to adapt their mood to their pose and the situation. I could do the eyes smaller or not painting them but the face would look like neutral. My figures could look like from a cartoon for some of you but I assume this, it's the way I like them. :-D

A labouring work but well deserved the effort.
Well done sir. Thank you for the inspiration.

I suppose we make comments on models from the point of view of realism . If the figures are being treated otherwise then fine. Cristian Florescu's German figures have correctedly scaled eyes and are full of character and are not neutral see his recent post.

Frankly, his figures could be more accurate but I really don't like their face and I will never paint mines like this. It's a matter of taste only. We're talking about 20 millimeters figures, it will never look like a real man, it's a hobby, or art, but not realism. Every painter has his own taste and method, nobody paint figures exactly in the same way.

the eyes on this subject :

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12834

to my opinion it's probably the best possible effect if you don't care about character or emotions represented on the face, congratulation to this artist, but now I do want to see emotion and fun in my figures. :-D

ADM this sta5543. I saw your swarm of sailors in '72 scale and since I'm in the process of building a diorama of a WWII PT boat base in the South Pacific Islands, I was wondering how did you get so many. I'm trying to locate a seller for WWII sailors. I'd be very interested in getting any info you might have. sta5543@yahoo.com
