Heads up Gentleman.

Posted by blucher1815red on 16 Feb 2015, 03:07

Hi guy's firstly I would like to thank Peter for taking the time to organize the the painting competions, & secondly to all who participate & vote, it's good fun & their was some very nice work entered into the competition. This was my entry, inspired by one of my favourite paintings by Edouard Detaille. The painting depicts Colonel Louis Lepic of the Grenadiers a Cheval chastising his men for ducking their heads in the face of canon fire whilst forming up for a charge at the Battle of Eylau 1807, he is quoted as saying " heads up gentlemen, these are bullets not turds "
Image
All the figures are conversions, using bodies of Italeri dragoons, heads from Airfix Grenadier Guards, arms from Airfix Cuirassiers & Revel British life Guards, the two dead Russians are from the Esci Crimean Russian artillery set , the horses are from Italeri French command set with some small alterations & then copper wire used to make the gold braid & trumpet cords & finally muskets, swords, back pack & shako's from my spares box. Thank you to all who voted.

Outstanding work, and more impressive now that all the parts have been described. Congrats on the Gold Brush, it's well-deserved.
