Napoleon emerges from the attic

Posted by davbenbak1 on 19 Oct 2015, 17:35

Inspired by Lord Marcus's "Vive la France project" WIP I have gotten my old Napoleonic's down from the attic. Pride of place going to the old Airfix figures painted when I was 13 years old with Testors Enamel paints and brushes. These tough soldiers are the veterans of numerous back yard campaigns surviving the perils of BB guns, fire crackers and all other abuses brought on by teenage boys; not to mention urban assault by vacuum cleaners and family pets. Sadly, not everyone made it and many were lost along the way.

Ah, a veterans parade. Wonderful and strangely moving. I might pay some of my old fellas a visit... :( :yeah:

Looking good. Repaint or keep the old timers as they are?

Lovely! And I see a lot of ESCI too. About 10 years younger than Airfix, but tough veterans non the less. Maybe I'll work a little on mine too.

Always good to travel down memory lane and revisit earlier times. I'm amazed you still have them from so long ago. Models from my youth are just recollections, nothing survived the passage of time. Thanks for sharing.
