North Africa Diorama

Hi guys,

I have eventually completed this little diorama, which represents a German Sd.Kfz. 222 belongin to the 15th Panzer Division captured by some GIs of the 6th Armored Infantry Division.

Those units fought around Kasserine in 1943.

The 222 crew was ambushed and captured while leaving the vehicle to refuel it.

I ain't sure about the title yet. I was thinking about something like "Out of fuel, out of luck"... dunno, suggestions are welcome.

I was very unsure whether to let the hat on the soldier's head or not.

The fallen soldier actually comes from the Airfix DAK set, in the beginning he was charging with a bayonet on his rifle. Along with some other minor modifications, I had to replace his head. This would allow me to have a better facial expression, which would fit the situation, and a better level of detail too.
The one you can see comes from a Caesar set, but they have the top of their heads flattened to allow a good matching with the helmet/cap... I wasn't able to recreate the top of the head, so that's why the hat is still on.

I recognized the pose of the casualty, the original has a helmet and is bayoneting with rifle over his head in a downward motion. Turning him into a casualty was an inspired choice. I think he looks better than the original pose. So what's your next project?

Well, actually I have tons of projects that exist only in my mind and a lot of stuff which needs to be completed too.
There is one similar little dio of Iwo Jima, I'm working on three Panzers as a Christmas present for some friends of mine, plus I'd like to build my first airplane, a Republic P-47

So, you see, there's a lot of stuff going on, but I'm very busy and lazy at the same time, so it will take a looooong time
