Hahaha, the mud is a mix of: plaste + painting + "still water" liquid effect. Before put the water effect I airbrushed a little, and finished with dry brush. Then put the water effect.

Fine Dio,and Extremely Good Painting. :-D One could call it a muddy mess, but i won`t.
As for those figures they depict an English Army racked with dysentery which causes diarrhea.
That`s why their leggings were torn open at the back, because when you have to go,you have to go,and pretty darn quickly too. BB

Beautiful work, really dynamic with a great atmosphere. You should be proud of this.

And then there's that quite terrific mud... ;-)

Great job. What paints did you use? How long did this dio take? Did you use a quickshader? Is the 1\1 scale person pictured the same person who created this fine work?

Hi, Bluefalchion!. I use Vallejo and Tamiya paints, always achrylics. It took me one month to make the diorama, i paint quite quickly, but the scratching of the figures take me a lot of time, sometimes I don't use most of the figures I customize because the final poses are unnatural or ugly.
I always paint a white or brown layer and after paint the main colour. Then a very wet layer of dark shade of each colour, and finish with dry brush with a pale shade of each colour to enhance the lights.
The 1/1 person is my wife, was kidding when I made the photos!!!!

Good work both on figures and diorama.

But its a pity there is so little light on your (single) figures.
I recommend you to open your diafragma a little more, because your camera is reacting on the white background in stead of the figure itself.
If your camera has no manual function, use a middle-tone background in stead of white.
And try to use more daylight: it always helps to place your model outside in garden or balcony when taking pictures to get daylight from all directions.
