Nappy Cavalry Project 2015 - My FINAL regiment...

Posted by Marvin on 22 Nov 2015, 20:59

Hi.

Well, it's been a long road :sweatdrop: ... but here is the final regiment in my 2015 project; the french 10th Cuirassiers. The figures are Zvezda and another good set from them it is too.

I've realised I've made a mistake in that I mounted the trumpeter on the wrong horse - never mind. That dun-coloured horse he's riding incidentally I've added a little pink on to his muzzle. A first for me, but I think it works and makes it look like a horse we used to have.

So - just got to paint old 'Boney' himself and his 'personal escort' in readiness for an end-of-year review of all the regiments which I'll post some time in December. Thanks once again to all on this wonderful forum for the kind 'likes', advice and comments that I've received throughout the year, it has often given me a much-needed boost to keep on going. :notworthy: :-D :-D

There are a few more pics and some regimental info on my blog here:

There's also a page on my blog with links to all the 13 Napoleonic cavalry regiments I've painted.

I'm a bit afraid to ask what word FINAL in topic exactly means. This is stunning work... Excellent way to end this weekend by seeing another masterpiece from you.

Terrific regiment to end the year. It's amazing how I prefer Cuirassiers in grey overalls as opposed to the more commonly painted cream breeches!
I truly love your loose style and colour choices.
Furthermore, your horse painting really is a high point of your work Marvin. Keep up the splendid brushstrokes and can't wait to see Boney and his staff.

Am i M V S ?_________ Not at all.
I blow the trumpet and beat the drum for another Brit, who paints Napoleonics.
Well done Marvin,they look Great!
Those figures remind me greatly of my friend blucher1815red`s work. I know he often still looks in and perhaps he will see the results of your work too. We all need encouragement at times, and perhaps a little nudge in the right direction. BB
