Last summer I made scratch build trees. I will write a tutorial how to do this with lots of different trees, materials and techniques and post those in the tutorial section.
Very nice work indeed! I love realistic landscapes and these trees will contribute greatly to the realism of any battlefield. Looking forward to the tutorial.
Wonderful! Lovely looking trees. I was also mightily impressed by the willow but I think the Green Man hanging on my wall really likes the gnarled old tree in the first two shots. There's a tree from the wild wood, how much history has it been witness to.
Truly beautiful work. These masterpieces remind us modellers that despite of more and more different kits and materials and techniques we are after all seeking to represent the nature itself.
Magnificent work, I think I can guess the method, it's like modeling a figure with miliput or something like that, around a metal frame and the foliage is embellished with crushed tea leaf. No doubt the time spent on each of these superb tree is really big ! This method is perfect for "Lord of the Ring " to represent the talking trees ! it's like modelling a diorama and a figure at the same time.
Yes ADM you are right. Making a tree is like modelling a human figure but larger and (here comes the good news) less detailed and less difficult.
Thanks everybody for the enthusiasm. Because I have very few WIP pics of my scratch build trees, I will make at least one new wheeping willow for a good tutorial since this was your shared favorite.
Also I am collecting plants and material from nature and determinate their latin names so you can start raiding the gardens of your wifes and neighbours to find your ready made trees for free.
All this will take a while but be patient and I will present it to you.
