Oronegrean Artillery and Bull fighter

Posted by Gowan on 27 Jan 2016, 05:48

Hi guys I've got some pictures for you today of my latest figures. As usual there are more pictures on my blog. First up the artillery.

And here is the Bull Fighter. Dressed as extravagantly as he can afford.

Hope you guys like it. I'll try and get more work done on some of my boats soon so maybe in the coming weeks you'll have those to look forwards to as well as more figures. I'm trying to make up for lost time (2 years of it)

Nice painting of Airfix old Nappie Brits artillery, but the real goodies is the bull fighter! Very nice! How did you do him (ah, that's maybe on the blog... wait a minute, I'll check there)............[coffeebreak]...................... Ah, now I recognize him! Little John! Well, a very small version of him. Very nice!

Thanks.
Actually he's not a little John figure. He's one of the generic ones holding a staff above his head. I can't find where I put my green stuff so I've had to use tiny amounts of tissue paper with PVA.

Well, he is one of the Little Johns in the set. Quite a lot of staff-holders, but noone fits really as Little John. But, nevertheless, it was great conversion of you!

@Dykio, Thanks. The modern stuff is quite large but the 18th century stuff needs expanding. Well when I say needs expanding I just want to paint more figures

Thanks Michael, the conversion was quite an experiment on my part using tissue paper is not exactly a conventional was of doing things.

Great artillery troops, colorful and good taste.
The matador does not have a long life expectance holding the cape as he does...The bull can see his feet and will know where to attack.
That is a good try but, if you see some photos on the internet, you will see that a real matador (or torero) is very flashy but also elegant. Its dress, the "traje de luces" is the same since the XVII century, al least. A good challenge for a conversion as I do not think there are miniatures.
Oronegro, being a spanish culture country should have bullfights. You could expand and do some mounted bullfighters either spanish or portuguese style (for the portuguese style some 7 years war cavalrymen would be perfect).

@ Mário thanks a lot. I'll be a bit more flamboyant in the future. Bull fighting in Oronegro will follow a style more common in Latin America where the aim is not to kill the bull. This was just a very simple conversion and I'd misplaced my green stuff so this was the best I could achieve as a proof of concept.

Gowan,Very Nice Job of Painting the British Airfix Artillery Crew. One of the better AIRFIX Kits they produced Donkeys years ago.__________Good indeed to see them based up too.
One can never make time up,but use what time we have in the most happy and constructive way.
Seeing your painted figures, and all your Boats, and the Ship,i would say you are most certainly doing that.
Well done Buddy! I hope to see more of your work. :-D BB
