Dear Dirk,

I love it. I just love it.
To me the water looks very good.
The boat is great.
Also I like your choice of plants.
Good colors, good composition of the overall diorama.
Beautyfull models and painting.

A lovely little diorama with super modelling going on. It would be nice to see it against a sky background. I think it would, if lit properly, look superb.

Fantastic! And, even if you are not totally satisfied with the water effect, as you explain in your blog, I still think that also the water looks good. And those details on the birds - unbelievable ...

As soon as I saw this I was reminded of this:

https://www.khanacademy.org/partner-content/british-museum/africa1/ancient-egypt-bm/a/paintings-from-the-tomb-chapel-of-nebamun

I was really blown away by how beautiful this scene is when I saw it in the British Museum, the online pic really doesn't do it justice.

Your dio is every bit as beautiful but it's in 3D, wonderful stuff.

The modelling is fantastic. The birds in the act of taking off give a real animation and drama to the scene, I can almost hear the commotion. The palm tree, especially the bark, is incredibly good and the papyrus is very authentic. And are those fish I can see under the water near the bow of the boat.

The one minor disappointment was when I saw the punt pole lying on the deck and realised the boat wasn't propelled by an ancient Egyptian electric motor. Only joking, I really can't fault this, Lovely scene, it feels good just to look at it.
