Continental Light Infantry

Hi,

The lack of sets, beside the basic ones, that can increase the variety of units in some decisive historical periods, force the collector to use the imagination. Some, not me, expend a good deal of effort and ability disguising figures with body swaps and green stuff. In my case, anything more difficult than some easy and quick cutting off or head swap is beyond my purpose.

In this particular case, I did use the STRELETS set “British Infantry in Egypt” and with some head swap and painting I turned them into an AWI Continental Light Infantry Battalion and a company of Commander-in-Chief’s Guard. Certainly, the 25 years going between the American Revolution and the Napoleonic war in Egypt have seen some changes regarding uniforms, weapons, military kit or haircut fashion. But, lucky I am, 1/72 is a scale that, under naked eyes, gives some room for masking this intolerably imprecision with some proper painting :-D

And this is what I intended to do with this figures.

I hope you like them and many thanks for stopping by…

Nice figures...I am really glad that others support that theory in practice how one period figures can be used for other periods if there are no figures from that period, since I am in that category...

Thank you very much for your comments!

With some more head swaps, I’m turning this same set in AWI British Light Infantry.

I see I am NOT THE ONLY ONE having had the idea of using these guys for AWI. I also belittle the lack of figures for that period whereas the (felt) 1000th set of Nappies is hitting the market. I also remodelled the British Scots (Strelets) from 1854 into AWI lacking these figures as well ...
