As always, fantastically painted figurines. And these patterns on clothes, beautiful.
I looked my own Romans and taken to a correction, because ashamed to show them.

Fabulous artwork - lots of inspiration here for my upcoming Romans! It is very difficult to paint so much detail in so small figs - and the white colour, as we all know, is a very tricky one! Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Wow, very, very nice job with those mediocre HaT figures! I'm impressed, especially with your cavalry. Your shields are spectacular.

Dear Kaktus,

Yes this is great fantastic painting work indeed: very nice, bright and smooth shading for the figures as a total and some incredible good detailing only at some spots where it can be expected in a historical view.

I would like to see some Achaemenid Persians of your hand, or Turkish Sipahis with embroidered saddle clothing: how colorful and wonderful would that look like?

Hi, As I promised there are Late Roman Medium Cavalry by HaT. I changed method of basing as you can see. I wonder what do you think about that and the blue or white photo background.

The figures look outstanding Marcin!

Looks like you used other spears for the figures. Looks like the white background is clearer as the blue one. That's what I see with my old eyes! ;-)

Than you Peter. You are right. The spears are hand made. I used hard plastic sticks from the brush.

wonderful figures and splendid bases! great job, indeed.
those bases with rounded corners are intriguing. Did you made or did you buy them ? If the latter, where?
And since between one word and the other I kept scrolling up and down across pictures, I repeat myself: great paint job. I'd love to see them on the battlefield.

Very nice to see those! It's quite funny, I had just bought a sprue of Italeri's late romans when this thread came alive again. :-D Great to see your work again! Since my eyes are a little older than Peter's I like the blue background better! It is easier on the eyes, the white feels a bit sharp. Don't know when I'll paint my Romans, have a lot of other stuff to paint first.

Thanks for posting your excellent work. Also I noticed the gentle, thin spears which look very realistic. I admire your way of composing the bases. Both old and new style look very good. I can give you no preference. But what is so good is you choose the thinnest material for these bases. So you have a minimum of standing up edge which will make your elements fit smoothly into your landscapes.
Your photography is excellent. I prefer the blue background. It makes your figures come out a bit lighter, at least according to my eyes.
