Thank you for your kind words.

Unfortunately the lonly scratch are the sails.
As you can see the orange kit part are too thick.
I build with the material beside new one.

The junk is from Aurora, Revell around the 90ies in her blue box style.
The "japanese" and the life boat are canibalised from the Airfix kit Bounty.
And the "white sugar" transporter is upgradet from Nikolai duck hunting set.

Excellent work and deserved medal. I can't say what I like the most. Junk, water or that boat?
Ok, maybe it's the junk... no wait, it's the water, no wait.... :eh:

Dear Wiking,

First of all my congratulations with your gold medal.
This is a very remarkable piece of work indeed.
My compliments.
It took me several looks at it before I understood what is really going on in your dio, since some of your subtitles are focussing on culinarities and the word junk has two different meanings. So, after having a better look at it I realized you did not only receive this medal for your technical skills and a very lively composition, but also for your great imagination since you are telling a whole story with both tension and humor in it.
Two lazy Japanese forsaking their task. Some Australians with nerves of steel risk their lives for winning their board game. They must have bet a lot of money with this game for not hiding under deck in this situation. A goose that does not want to turn into a culinarity almost spoils the undercover operation.
Do I see it right? Has one of the Australians a broken leg?
And nice to see a conversion of an Atlantic Maoist Revolutionary. Its one of those sets we seldom see used.

Since I am working on 'getting the wind in my galley sails' by using glue soaked cotton and a foam mold at the moment, your WIP picture has my special interest. Good choice to see you replaced all of the original sail by some very thin paper or cellofan. Did you add any glue or varnish to make it stronger after attaching it to the rods?
The transperance of it works excellent.
And the bamboo is so good!
Suddenly I realise these Asian sails can not round up as a whole in the wind. Only the small sections of sail between the bamboos. Since all those rods are loosely attached to the mast.
Do you know what those asian sails were made of?
It looks like the original plastic sail depicts something that looks like a bamboo mat so no textile at all. But that must be just another way of creating traditional sail.

And two more other great dio's of your hand to go. But that's for later.

@ Susofrick

Thank you.
The man (as I decribed as the grandpa of Le Sedol) get for real a broken leg. And he is correct from the Airfix but Australian WWII set.
By the way.
This is an advantage in my opinion from a show like Heiden or Antwerpen and Overloon. I visite in the past.
There are privat sellers. And some sell as the above described figure as single. A few of my figures I buy this way. Ok you pay about 10- 20 Cent per figure. On the other hand you can coose the pose you need or like.
Or there was a seller for single figures with a commerical in this Forum too.
Finally it isn`t necessary to by the whole box. There are each fife times a standig shooting man kneeling shouting man a lying shoting man inside. This poses I use so rarely and is so hard to convert that for me it is a waste.

Dear Mr. Cryns,

First I have to give your compliments back.
I see in your post Tyre 332 BC, your well done scratch buildings. And a lot of info ( thanks for the useful link) too.
Thank you for your very nice words.
And well spotted and descibed scene.
Yes, during my research in Google for junk I have to add: Ship.
The man has indeed a broken leg.
I give him black hair to possibly be the grandpa of Le Sedol who today lost 1:4 a few weeks back against the Google Alpha GO computer in the game "Go". A board game too.
It is nice that you see the Atlantic figure. At ebay i get parts of this set for an reasonable price.
And well spottet again I disarm him, to make a peaceable looking cinese man.

For the sails, I cut it in the same size like the kit part. Then I crumble up to a ball. Make it flat. Do the crumble up again. Flat it again. Three to four time. So you get it worn out look and edges for dry brushing later. It is greaseproof paper that I paint in several pink and orange colore I choose. That work like a glue (Vallejo). The bamboo stick that I add on with superglue are so close that it was not necessary to stiffen the sails with glue or varnish.
You recognize correct that the kit part sails look like a bamboo mat. But all pic of real junk sails show me more to textil.

I think the best option for the Australians is to bee cool like Paul Hogan:
That`s not a knife. THAT`s a knife!

Japnese firearm vs. 20mmm Oerlikon.

Once again a masterpiece of you !! :yeah:
There is again much to admire and smile. A duck breaks out of the cage, the turtle and the goose escape the chef de cuisine (it will probably now only rice give). So much details. Dreamlike !!
I congratulate you for the medal!!!!
