It took a while before I recognized the Atlantic figure. Had a break from figures 1975-84 so I missed their output. The other figures are classics for me! And I am quite fond of Airfix' old condederates. Great use, nice di, and a warm welcome to the groupbuild!

Very nice, I like the almost monochromatic appearance of the landscape.

Great job!

I can't add too much more than what's already here. The groundwork, the muted colors, the mix of figures...all top-notch. It's fortunate that we have your work on display here!

Dear Pieter,

My compliments for your work. Good to see these old figures again.
And I like a dio situated in a recently harvested cornfield, like this one.

The donkey:

I am too young for this donkey. When I was old enough to buy it with my first money, it was out of production for many years already. Some older boys gave this donkey to me. I never knew if it was a zebra from the Airfix Zoo set or a donkey from the Airfix Farm animal set since one of these older boys had painted stripes on it. Finally you make clear to me that it really is a donkey.

Dear Mr. Cryns.

Thank you for your compliments!
I am a great admirer of your work so I am proud you commented.

About the airfix donkey/zebra;

Its the supposedly zebra from the Airfix tarzan figures set.
My very first set of Airfix-figures ever actually... The kit contains several wild animals including a zebra.
I have never looked upon this figure as being a zebra though. Even as a kid it always looked like a sturdy little donkey to me... The kind of donkey that might pull a small cart;
and thats how, after all these long years, it ended up in a confederate camp...

Kind regards. Pieter
