HaT Belgian Light Dragoons

Posted by Marvin on 16 Apr 2016, 14:01

Well, as promised in my previous post featuring the Dutch LD, I'm posting a few pics of the other regiment in that HaT set, the 5th Belgian Light Dragoons. I've said it before with the Dutch versions but those long sabres probably need trimming down a bit.

And if Peter gives them his approval, then I'm content.

There is some unnecessary blurb and extra pics on my blog:

And if you missed them, the 4th Dutch Light Dragoons are showcased here:

U apologize for replying before Peter does (my comment is irrelevant anyway  ).
It's easy to paint Zvezda or Italeri but on those average (or worse) sets one can see that you're one of best 1/72 painters I know. Excellent job Marvin, you deserve your beer ;-)

I find that these guys look more handsome as the Dutch ones! You deserve your beer indeed!

@Dali: I did give comment before you! On his blog!

Dear Marvin,

I agree with our moderators you deserve your beer.

But you understand I disagree with one of them completely, though I am not revealing his name here for reasons of discretion.

Marvin it is excellent painting work you did here, like you showed us many times before. My compliments.

Being discrete, he says! Who's quote is he using? Ha! These guys had nice green uniforms instead of that French blue! So the aren't only handsome, but also smart! They knew that green for uniforms was the future! And we have better beer and bigger pints to put it in as the Dutch!  :joker:

Brilliant work! I like Peter favor these over the blue ones. Don't get me wrong, I'd take either set if offered!!!

Hi Marvin,

thank you for the pictures with the very good painted "Dutch Cavalry" !!!

My only problem with these figures - the swords are to long - a mistake fom the sculptor...

Greetings
Thomas

What a beautiful work from you. The equestrian figures look great. The painting is amazing! Great job from you! :yeah:
What I really like how you paint light and shadow on the clothing / uniforms. Mainly in the green uniform jackets that is particularly striking. Thus the figures appear even more realistic. Real fantastic!!!

Just realised that these Belgian light dragoons should have green shakos, not black!

I'm deeply ashamed!!! :stressed:

Back they go to the painting table...

Peter, I told you, the blue ones were the better ones.... Why do I have to say everything twice?

Back to the painting table, that is the right spirit Marvin, when you are not satisfied yourself.

The number of these fanatics is growing rapid in this topic. Peter, you better be quick by bringing this to a hold before they take over complete control from you.

With Rich I have one more vote for the Belgians!

Dali is only fanatic on one thing, which I will not tell here! I want to keep it "proper"!

Yes, feature "desaturate" would make picture black and white and solve the problem
