And its a great micro-paintjob bovendien. Look at that face. He really looks like an Arab. Or is it Tom Selleck? Whatever, you gave this figure a human character. Respect.

Why did you stop painting eyes like this? I tried it last week but I am getting blind I think. After 4 or 5 attempts my figure had so much paint in his eye sockets he looked like Popeye with eyes like fluffy eggs.

I never painted the eyes of 1/72 figures. Normaly this looks terrible. I am only working with a special wash and an a detailed eyebrow, if the sculp of the face allows further details.

But this is a fantastic job!

I do not know anyone who paints a 1/72 figure eyes! I think that's a great performance of you and I like it very well.
Great is also the play of light and shadow on the clothes! The leather straps and metal parts (sword, helmet ..) look very realistic. A very beautiful work from you !!!! Thanks for the photo!

In general I avoid painting eyes in 1/72 (or smaller) because in general there isn't a good surface to paint the eyes. This figure however, is not one of them, and you did a terrific job on painting the eyes!

Great shading on the rest of the miniature. It's really good.

The only thing I spot with a dot are horses eyes,a tip I picked up from blucher1815red a good friend of mine. However smaller figures are to difficuilt for me. Often is the case I see dizzy sick looking eyes on models that completely ruins it for me,but that is not the case here and my admiration goes out to those who can actually paint i`s,____________i mean eyes. BB

First of all Dykio you did a great job on that figure, and the eyes look real good!

I think when you make a tour here on the forum you will discover a lot of figures in this scale painted with eyes. Remember our Chinese friends like Chen!

Personally I don't do it. I don't feel the need for painting eyes. A good flesh wash will do!

The painted eyes pictured in the last few posts look very good. I notice the painters have not emphasized the white portions. Maybe I will try it.

I think also the problem usually is the white of the eyeball. It can already be seen in reality only a little bit because the pupil fills the eye in the view. And actually it is not like a pure white. So you have to be enormously careful when painting. But in the pictures above is impressively shown it can be done...

In 9 out of 10 cases painting eyes has bad results. This one is that remaining 1 out of 10.

I agree white eyeballs are not very realistic.
But sometimes this can give a figure a very dramatic accent.
I found this one from many years ago.



Also pronounced eye white can create comic interaction between different figures.



Its a matter of taste but when painting dwarve-like figures like the old Strelets or New Line Design such puppet eyes can be part of the style.

It is obvious I used too thick paint.
