Excellent. Shields are so cool and that guy in white is amazingly painted (I'm sorry I don't know Roman military terminology that well so I don't know is that officer or what).

No doubt drill instruction was among his duties, but the staff he carries is the traditional mark of a decurion (cf the vitis or vine rod of the centurion.)
