Airfix Set 01719 Arabs (Bedouins)

Posted by Peter on 31 May 2016, 19:55

For some of us some nice childhood memories, for others something new to recover! I wish I could find more of these figures and more specific the cavalry figures! and I'm really waiting for the Strelets Lawrence of Arabia set. Box and masters can be seen here!

Painted them as I paint all my Arabian or Muslim warriors! ;-)

Painted one pose off each figure, and all the horses and camels.

Here is the whole bunch together:

The Infantry:

The whole army so far (Hat, Esci, Airfix):

As allways some more pictures and blabla on the BLOG!

Bedouins ante portas!!!

Nice painted Airfix set. :yeah: (Funny, right now I paint a few of them too.)
Interesting is that the center rider of the cavalry as the left one of the camelry are without weapons oob.
But they get ammunition belt.

Others said it already, can onyl repeat it, they look good!
And they bring back childhood memories - those relating to Airfax are mainly positive, but not exclusively: Their peg-and-hole system for fixing horses or camels to the base is something that I don't miss, to be onest. Never worked properly in my memory; holes were either too small or to wide, and the fact that you couldn't glue the stuff decently was not helpful either ...
But the Bedouin figures themselves are still a respectable set IMHO. And the paintjob is really fine!

Said it elsewhere, great painted set! And made a great year too! :-D Peg and hole was horrible in the most sets, but I think it was worst in this set with the camels. And I think that since Peter painted them he will have to do the laundry too. No beers in this thread yet? Ah, it's early yet.

Peter, I don't fancy beers colored in green or blue. Your work is an eye candy, of course ;-)

So you lock them up? That's evil, man! :-D Prefer brown beer and black beer. Ale is also nice!
