It all start with ...

I remember that I would only buy just some paint (Humbrol, Revell Emallie) two set of figures and superglue to do only this base with some figures that survived from my youth. I thought at this time a one weekend fun project.
The brushes I used are fom my school water paint box set.

Defenders of Berlin.

At this time I dont know dry brushing nor washing.
The base was my first test for washing a few years later.
As the white wall for drybrushing.

Figures: Esci, Revell, Accurate.
Build in 1998.

Nice scene. Not a criticism but some figures seem tense and full of action while some are relaxed? Thanks for posting a work done before your technique had developed. That's the great thing about this forum. Even I felt comfortable posting a pic of some Airfix Napoleonics I have painted as a teenager in late 70's using Testor's enamels.

:-D So cute. I think it 's always interesting to see how some things began to treat. It's like with the first drawings from kindergarten. Look terrible, but everyone is proud about...

This diorama from 1998 is very good, but your skill has increased in the interim. Thanks for putting up this picture.

@Bluefalchion
Thank yo for this compliment.

@Peter
Thanks a lot.
The base only is from my teenager time. Colored with waterproof pencils that are for the overhead projector.
This Dio with paint was the start, after a few years I visit the local show (German Model Masters), later on, more fare away like Antwerpen, start to improve my skills, go with competition, and my last step right now is this Forum since last year.
