Pavloski Grenadiers

Posted by despertaferro on 07 Aug 2016, 09:41

Hi friends!

At last, after some months of forced silence, here I’m again with some new posting…

Oh boy, these make me sweat every stroke of brush! I don’t know how you guys manage to paint these Napoleonic uniforms but, for me, it is really difficult to deal with so many buttons, cuffs, lapels and belts… my eyes getting too tired and my hands too wobbly for such an stress test… :-D

Anyhow, here they are Peter!
The Pavloski Grenadiers were the sole unit keeping the obsolete Mitre as a headwear all along the Napoleonic wars. On 1813 they become a Guard Regiment.
Figures are Italeri and Hat, the later from their 1805 Russian Line Infantry set with some head swaps. I have painted them for Eylau (they wore greatcoats there) and Friedland’s period, the main battles of 1807 Poland campaign.

I hope you like them and many thanks for stopping by…

Many thanks for your time and your comments.

Dear Konrad, I have plans for them; but with so many armies in progress it would take some time… (Maybe I can squeeze some bases in between to give them I try… :stressed: )

Great paint job and basing on these Grenadiers! I like the faces especially. You inspire me to tackle the Napoleonic era figures awaiting me on my table, although I will agree with you that all the buttons, straps, flaps, hats, epaulets, feathers, and items of kit make for a tough challenge.

Thanks for posting. You did a great job with mixing the figures and the head swaps. Lots of motion on your bases. I do mine in a more static, uniform basing style. I've got the Italeri figures in a box somewhere mixed with Austrians, just too busy with British units on my painting table at the moment.
