Parthenon

Posted by steve_pickstock on 13 Aug 2016, 12:04

Not sure I have posted this before.

Inspired by Phersu's Temple and because I am working on an undead army at the moment - and nothing says "Undead" like the children of the Hydra from Jason and the Argonauts

Anyway this is from from Scotia Miniatures (I think, it was a few years ago) and it works for various scales but as I wargame in 1/72 it works for that. I added the tile floor and a Woodland Scenics tree growing up through the floor.

The frieze round the inside of the walls was printed out in Powerpoint and then appliqued over the brown paint. but when I glazed it with white glue, the paint cracked. At first I swore but pretty quickly realised that it was a great accident to have.

A clearer view of the floor with a MiniArt Ancient German to show the scale.

And the completed floor in situ with an Airfix Ancient Brit

And in a nod to Jason and the Argonauts

Now that's what I call ancient ruin. I like it a lot.

Thank you both, but I have to say that it really is a lovely model to start with, all i did was help the character out.
