The grim reality of war! And even though there is a lot of misery in these scenes I find a lot of joy trying to figure out your conversions! Great fun! And good work.

Impressive work, good actions and finally an realistic size of La Haye Sainte. I like it! I would like to prefer only not bright colours for the soldiers or it was the foto-light which have given them their shining?

Earlier this month I stood in front of this farm. You captured it well in your work!

As always a monumental amount of work, interesting conversions and some really nice photographs.

Airfix mountain troops on the roof, Japanese bayoneting chap etc all brilliant.

The farm looks excellent although I think the garden might not have been quite so tidy at that time of the day.

The thing that spoils it for me is as always the gloss finish. The guys without it look great but the rest have the look of 'toy' soldiers which is such a shame when you achieved so much.

Nevertheless, inspirational stuff from which I for one, hope to 'pinch' a few ideas.

Dear Chris,

Many thanks, I do know what you mean about the gloss finish, but I have a bit of a phobia about dust. I know how bad the Winchester model looked after many years of dust and I want to avoid that by using gloss which is easy enough to dust. I assume your amazing compositions are temporary while mine will be permanent. My aim is to keep the gloss finish until the last minute (which could be ten years). It is then relatively simple to give the figures a matt varnish finish (but having first dusted them). So in sum, the gloss will go!
