Danish Heavy Cavalry (Strelets)

Posted by fabriziodavi on 14 Sep 2016, 16:08

This time the six Danish heavy cavalry regiments which fought at Helsinborg, 1710, from the Strelets "Reitars of Charles XII", fully exploiting the miniatures breastplate which are pretty wrong for the Swedish but good enough for the Danish ;-)

I would give them moderate coat of wash and matt varnish. But they look excellent even without it.

Indeed I gave them a coat of matt varnish after taking the picture. The wash was put everywhere but on the cuffs. I agree with you, the cuffs are too much bright. Thanks!

I like the topic which is very rare here. And the figures a painted well. I would sugggest to add a paper flag. I think one can find in the web. The Strelets ones of that period are just a bunch of plastic.

Excellent use of these figures. Congratulations!

If I can say something, I agree that a bit duller appearance would help the painting.

Thanks for posting. I've wondering about using these figures for SYW cuirassiers.

I think they could become reasonable SYW cuirassiers. The only thing that should be modified would be the pistol holsters and for Prussian Cuirassiers to add the sabretache.

However, as far as I know, the best Prussian cuirassier can be obtained by putting tricornes on the Zvedza Napoleonic Saxon Cuirassiers.
