sculpts by me, Mondria

Posted by poky on 01 Nov 2016, 13:04

Figured its about time I will make a post that shows my sculpting work, starting of with a finished project but I will also post in progress figures as well later on, some are commissions but some will also be just for myself and for fun.
Roman General and his 2 standard bearers, new commission for Masterclass from Italia http://www.masterclass.it/, fun to do I never did figures like this before except for a couple of normal Romans soldiers years ago, it was a bit of a challenge but in the end they ended up looking pretty good if I say so myself.

PS the General only looks a little bit like Maximus :)

In line with your title, "sculpts by me,Mondria"

Hi there,I`m a bit puzzled here. First of all I like what I see, but did you sculpt the whole figure you are converting? If not does Master Class own the Copyright to it? After all these are for production and eventually for sale, and for big bucks on their website page. BB

Hi Patrik !
I have long been familiar with the pictures of your fingers! :
Each time, they somehow kept all the more beautiful figures !!!
I want to say that your work from scratch is much better quality than those in which there is a conversion

thanks for the kind words guys

BB, these are 100% made by me, Masterclass just emailed me how it was to look all the rest was up to me.

Alex, thanks its a joy to work with your masters but it can be very hard to get a good pose and figure out of a master made by someone else, matching flow and detail does not always work out as good as I hoped, but Im getting better at it.
for does that dont know what we are talking about I also sculpt for Valdemar and sometimes I get asked to change a master not made by me but by Alex or others as well.

Wiking, hahaha no but the driver is taking a nap on the backseat :-D

again thanks guys

Great to see your work and especially the detail. Already knowing much of your other work is on machines, vehicles and other modern subjects, I have to say the straight lines and sharp edges are also remarkable in the equipments of your ancient human figures.

ok not a real figure but a sort of "modern" knight so I will keep it short

anyway the Carden-Loyd Mark 1
small 1 man tankette tested around 1926-1927, the idea behind it was to give every infantry man a armored vehicle, in that way a bit like knights, this design did not really work out well got many updates and small changes and evolved too the Universal Carrier many years later

Impressive!
It is not so easy to do a full scratch. :yeah:
There is a lot to think, planing first. A Thinktank :-D
What color will this "egoshooter" get?
Bronzegreen?

The real vehicle look so, that it could be seen in "Rouge one" too.

Well done so far.
