Kompanie 3, Aufsitzen!

Kompanie 3, Aufsitzen!

I had a thought inspired by a German Normandy campaign photograph and trawled through my old WW2 boxes.

The base is a baking tray, lined with tin foil and filled with builders sand making a very portable terrain setting.

My wife, Der Feldmarschall suggested that I use the conservatory for photography as outside was very windy. My intention was to follow the lead of some fellow members and use natural light.

I am pleased with the result and can recommend conservatories as studios once your partners consent has been obtained!

The infantry are from many manufacturers but the Panthers are the old Del Prado magazine die cast Auf A’s repainted by myself.

Happy modelling.

Chris

Very nice Dio. :yeah:

True, pic of a battle group in Normandy. Now in color.
A lot of moving grey.

Revell. Pegasus, Airfix, Matchbox, Esci and some unknown stay, sit, run around.

In the center of the second pic and in the third pic center left.
There is a brown/green person without headgear at the street.
What is he doing. It look like he will sit but there is nothing to sit down.
Is he holding an ice in the right hand?
This person look at the pic as they do not real exist in these Dio.

Thank you to everyone for their kind comments.

Aren't optics fun? It is nice to see a sense of humour in what was a serious business.

The chap running for Panther 331 is from SHQ and I used him because his facial details are good. I was hoping that he was giving a thumbs up but he could be saving his cornetto.

I gave the group a generic look as this is an era where people can get a bit political.

The mixture of uniforms reflects the fact that many troops liked to use the older, better equipment whilst they could.

The Panthers are from the third Kompanie, third Zug, hence the title.

Unfortunately the diorama no longer exists as the wife's tolerance has its limits regarding storage. I use the photographic record as it saves space.

In reply to Konrad, she is affectionately known as the Feldmarschall and the trees were her work.

Thank you,

Chris
