I like the Mussolini poster on the brick wall. It is so far down, someone must have put it up after the wall was damaged. Nice touch.

There were armies from many nations in Italy by 1944. Poles and Indians both were involved in the assault on the monastary at Monte Cassino.

Very nice read about the Brazilian contribution. I especially liked learning about the origin of the army section unit patch. "The Smoking Snakes" is a pretty cool name.

BEF (Brazilian Expedition Force) set free the places were I live today, they crossed the Appennines from Tuscany heading to Parma, along with the Buffalo Soldiers Division and the Japanese Nisei, they all fought bravely and routed the Germans, many of them drowned while trying to swim across the Po river. Gen. Anders' Polish Division were heading to Bologna, from the eastern, adriatic coast, US Mountain Division saw one his few fights on the Appennines on those days. So we had many "exotic" units fighting at home. When someone tells me that Americans and British freed our places, I answer that Brazilians, African-americans, Japanese, Polish, Moroccans, Maori and Nepalese did it!

Congrats, a very nice diorama.
I like very much as you have been able to join bases of different kits to make a single (where I can see the house strong point of airfix and bases of lrdg, krup protze and monty cavan of matchbox), it not easy to link all these to have a "homogeneus" and logic base, and you made it very well.
The secene is nice too, these duck have a lot of god luck to no t be in the soldiers pot :yeah:

I knew that Brazil had sent troops to the war, a Brazilian friend (modeler also) told me and I could see some photos and drawings in an Osprey book.
from where did you take the brazilian decals?

J_a_ when Latin Amercia decided to be "out" of the post WW2 (from 1946 till the 50s and 60s) "polarized world" (not US neither the Soviet Union, thye so called "third postion) ) there was a strong propaganda from "occident" abouth latin american countrys were N**i or fascist, but the fact is that mos of the latin american countrys, (including our own country) during the ww2 suported directlty (Mexico, Puerto Rico and Brazil) or "indirectly" (the case of our country) the allies. Mostly foreconomic reasons, and ideologist too, the latin american dictators from the 40s where "conservatives" ("God, Country Family and Property; even when must of the latinoamerican armys had in the "german school", they where more "prusian" than N**is, for these people, fascism and N**is where like comunist or something else) .
Nobody I doubt very much when taking sides in the 40s.

@ Carlos
First of all thank you for your nice commend.

You count correctly all the bases from Airfix and Matchbox.
And yes you are right. I play a very long time in the beginning of the Dio to add all "homogeneus".
I use it because they lay several years at my sideboard and I wan`t waste it. Well observed.
This is the reason for the different look of the Dio. There is no base at the bottom.

And with the Barzilian decals you hit the next trouble in the Dio.
It was a long search at all my US stars with a big white round.
Same diameter for the right and for the left side. Each vehicle. So far Ok.
But the amount of small stars! Luckily in the Ex Nitto now Fujimi kit there are plenty of these small US stars for US vehicles.
Each decal was one big circle and five stars in the right position.
And all want to swim in an other direction during preparation. :-D
Only the sides of the halftruck get a Brazilian decal from an RPM kit, FT17.

I know that a decal set now exist since a few years for Brazilian vehicles.
Look better as my "homemade" ones.

In the past I learned as giorgio described that several nationality fight in Italy.
But I was surprised about Brazilian soldier too.

Hi Carlos I know I was a bit ironic with my comment is obvious that brazilians would never supported axis, and i know too that we havent the leadership of the gral Peron during the years of the war which i dont doubt that he would supported the axis, but he came really late for that
