[code][/code]Ok, this is to show that I m not all the time making naked girls.
It is my last milityarty veihcile, a SAS "europe" jeeo.
Abouth the SAS europe Jeep, there were at least 3 version, the more famous more "late" version, with blinded shields for the driver, co pilot and in the back and for the engine (Dragon have one) and anopther no so knowledge version, the italian and the used in "early" D day operations.
The last one was very simple version just a little improved "airborne jeep" (not a big deal, the airborne jep was just a jeep in wich all the things that could hinder a glider transport was removed, for space and wigth, so front fences was cuted, auxiliary wheel was removed from the back and translated to the front or over the hood, etc etc etc).
The SAS just added more machine guns (vickers) and some littel modifications.
The opertaions in france in the near "D" day where sabotage operations in conection with the french resitence, basically it was to avopid or delay the arrivement of german reinforcement to the normandy region, usually teh mission where abutu sabotage at the railways.

And now the model, it is the Airfix "airborne jeep", personally I don't like it too much, the previous version "wyllys Jeep" is better-.











The kit have nly two vickers (i needed 4) I have to make the vickers.

now the vignette, it is over a mmatchbox (actualy revell) 1/76 base from the half track. A "exploded" railway with a hole, cousre it was a little improved.

I like the idea, Carlos. But there are a few things that I noticed. First thing I've noticed, is that the base has a lot of empty space, which looks a bit silly on the sides of the railway. Reduce the base or you can fill it up. Like so:




Seccond thing is the jeep. It is way too greenish, and also the "micky mouse" pattern is missing.
I'm not sure if you do more WW2 vehicles, but I can send you a list with the colors by pm if you wish so.
But a good effort nonetheless!

Very nice and informative. I did not know that SAS are in Europe too.
I like what you have done, modified on the Jeep.
The idea to use the ex Matchbox hafltruck base is simply good. The additional sand to it is well done as the paint.
I think too as mickey mouse write that the Jeep is very green. But I can live with that because the whole scene is nicely done. As an example the man in British uniform wear the firearm upside down.

Great work well done, I have some of the dragon jeeps for the SAS , it would be nice to find some 1/72 crew figures for both the jeeps and the LRDG Chevrolet trucks, fingers crossed maybe one day.

Well, I have the list of the birtish colors, looking the colors in the picture (the resitence girl skirt is differente, almos phoshorescent) something worg happnes with green colors and my hone cel cammera, in fact, if you chek the blue ligth in the bottom of the pictures in the moment in wich the vehicle was in construction and in the later pictures, you could note that in the lastest pictures, the ligth blu became more clear and a little more green.
Think the ilumination (and the fact that i used cel phone cmemmera) change the colors.
I used the vallejo "bronze green". May be Vallejo have a wrong greeen bornze or my paint is quite old
Abouth if this my first jeep, well....is the second airborne that I made this year.
This wast the first one with the "mickey mouse pattern"










Abouth the mickey mouse pattern, I have some ,ore pictures from the "early" SAS operations in west Europe, the Houndsworth and the little more famous "bullbasket", I coulnd't find the Mickey mouse pattern in no one of the pictures,

there are another picture.



If you check in that picutres and in the previous that I lift up, you will see that there are not a mickey mouse pattern. I dont know if the SAS used mickey mouse pattern in Houndsworth or Bullbasket, may be, but having not sure information, I have to be with the only documentation I found, the pictures.
And in the pictures, there are not a Mickey mouse pattern.
That the reason cause I start allways my posts in modellers pages, with pictures (or "pulp" images, wich are my best inspirations in this days)
And abouth the distribution of the figures and space, I I just wanted to make some "windows" to have a easy view of the vehicle from the left side. May be there are a "disbalance", but I like it.

Yes, I have these one, excellent kit, the version is the more famous, but it is a little more "later" version, used in the Vosgos operations, is more "evolutionated" version, with the gasoline tanks over the back mudguards, the blindages for the driver and copilot and back plate, and in some cases blindages plaques in the radiator etc. Its was used for British, french and belgian crews, each one made some different modififications, Think in the belgian crews was more comoon the radiator blindage plaques.
Is a exellent kit from dragon.



There a lot of good pictures abouth this version in internet, You could check that in almost alla, the crews have in a more "cold" uniformology, its because these version was more entering in the winter 1944- 45, the summer version (normandy) were by far more simple.
